Summary:The study examined the effect of domestic violence on suicide among students in Kabale municipality. It was guided by the following objectives; to examine the association between domestic violence and suicide attempts among students in Kabale Municipality, to assess the prevalence and patterns of domestic violence among students in Kabale Municipality, and to identify different strategies for improving the prevention efforts and support systems for students affected by domestic violence and at risk of suicide in Kabale municipality. The study adopted a descriptive research design comprising both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The study included Students, Parents, and community members. The researcher used a sample size of 70 respondents. The study was based on questionnaires and interviews. The collected data was analyzed manually using tallies and the responses of the subjects were then categorized in frequency counts and score tables with varying percentages calculated and later tabulation method was used to present data. The present study revealed the association between domestic violence and suicide attempts among students and highlighted key factors which included impact on mental health, academic Impact, protective factors and interventions, and depression. The study further examined the prevalence and patterns of domestic violence among students as depression, decline in school performance, distress due to verbal conflict between parents, and verbal alteration. The study established the different strategies for improving the prevention efforts and support systems for students affected by domestic violence and at risk of suicide which included sensitization and mobilization, instigating child protection investigations into situations of domestic violence, peer support programs, and counseling and support services
