description The study was set to establish the role of the procurement Processes on Service Delivery in Local Government: A case study of Kabale Municipal Council- Uganda. it was guided by three objectives which included establishing the challenges encountered by local governments in the procurement process that hinder service delivery, examining factors that affect service delivery in the local government of Uganda, and finally establishing the effect of the public procurement process on service delivery in local government. According to the researcher’s findings, public procurement processes affect service delivery evidenced by the respondents who agreed to the effects where majority of respondents agreed that there is a relationship between procurement planning and service delivery through procurement planning helping to achieve the maximum value for expenditures on services to be delivered. It was also established that there are several challenges registered in the procurement process among which included limited funding failing service delivery, political interference that delays service delivery, corruption that hinders contract execution, compliance constraints, collusion of bidders, limited quality suppliers providing shoddy supplies, too much documentation and bureaucracy that makes process expensive. Therefore, there is a need to explore deeply in the public procurement process and service delivery to devise strategies to overcome these challenges.
