description | The investigation aimed to determine the impact of various management styles on employee turnover among sales representatives at Airtel Uganda Ltd. It focused on three specific objectives: examining the effect of autocratic management style on employee turnover, assessing the effect of democratic management style on employee turnover, and evaluating the effect of laissez-faire management style on employee turnover among sales representatives. A cross-sectional survey research design was employed, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods to assess the relationships between the study variables at a specific point in time. A sample of 114 respondents was selected using simple random sampling and purposive sampling techniques. The quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS Version 21.0, while qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Descriptive statistics, correlations, and regressions were presented in tables according to the study objectives. The study found a significant positive relationship between the autocratic management style and employee turnover (r = .842, P≤.01), a significant positive relationship between the democratic management style and employee turnover (r = .315, P≤.01), and a significant positive relationship between the laissez-faire management style and employee turnover (r = .399, P≤.01). These quantitative findings were supported by qualitative data presented in chapter four. The study contributes empirical evidence to the ongoing discussion about management styles and employee turnover among sales representatives at Airtel Uganda Ltd. To reduce employee turnover, the study recommends adopting autocratic, democratic, and laissez-faire management styles. |
