Summary:This study focused on the influence of conflict management on the organizational performance of the Bubaare sub-county Rubanda district. The study employed a Descriptive research design. The study findings indicate that there were causes of conflicts in Bubaare sub-county Rubanda district Uganda including; Individual perceptions and beliefs, Disagreements among employees, Working environment, Competition for jobs and promotion, Competition for resources, Differences in salaries, and administrative challenges. Findings further found out that the high demand for promotions among the government workers increased on conflicts and was true since most of the local government staff entry level is diploma level and having acquired degree level, they think that they would be promoted but their dream was not fulfilled which increased on conflicts. The findings of the study indicate that there were consequences of conflicts on employee performance in the Bubaare sub-county Rubanda district including loss of income, destruction of government property, demotion of government officials, conflicts bring new ideas, Conflicts help to motivate employees, increased performance and losing negotiations. The findings of the study indicate that there were possible intervention mechanisms to reduce employee conflicts as they include negotiations, concessions, proper staff management, collaboration among staff, changing structure of management, government involvement, and employee participation. Respondents who were interviewed revealed that collaboration among staff and understanding one another based on their job roles was the best way of reducing conflicts. The study recommends that; the management should be sensitive to conflicts and set up effective communication channels to facilitate an improvement in conflict management. The connection between employees and top management is because of the impact it has on the effectiveness of conflict management strategies and the organizations should focus on increasing the utilization of conflict management strategies like negotiation and mediation to increase organizational performance.
