description The study was about the effect of human resource planning on the organizational performance of an organization. A case study of Kabale District Local Government. The study was guided by three objectives which were: to determine the effect of organizational structure on organizational performance, to find out the effect of employee retention on organizational performance, and to find out the effect of Reward management systems and organizational performance. A targeted population of 40 respondents was considered for the study. Both simple random and purposive sampling techniques were used in identifying the study sample size. The methods that were used in data collection included questionnaires, observation, and interviews. Data collected was edited, coded, entered into the computer, and analyzed with Excel, a Microsoft statistical package, the results were presented in tables. Based on results from the study, 100% of the respondents agreed that there are some effects of organizational structure on organizational performance. These include organizational structure determines the assignment and coordination of roles, power, and responsibilities within a business, organisational structure affects employee job satisfaction, the organizational structure is a formal system of task and reporting relationships, organizational structure plays a pivotal role in employee wellbeing, creates a supportive and flexible work environment. The study findings further revealed the effect of employee retention on organizational performance and these included high retention rates can indicate that a team is highly engaged, implementing Effective Onboarding, offering Relevant Environmental Factors, and creating a Positive Workplace Culture. From objective three, it was found out as indicated by the respondents from Kabale district Local government that the effect of Reward management systems and organizational performance. These included extrinsic motivation encourages staff to complete their task in order to receive the reward pay reward system is a product of an organization’s philosophy, employee recognition, training and development programs are strategic functions of human capital management, poor performance reviews due to inadequate job training can produce employee dissatisfaction and conflict and negative attitude, management must see the need to help workers develop skills and build new capacities necessary.
