The study also found that economic deprivation negatively affects the physical and mental health of older persons, leading to financial stress, psychological and emotional disorders, and depression. To mitigate these impacts, the study suggested expanding social security schemes to non-civil servants, tailoring grants for older persons, and continuously providing skills training in productive ventures. Therefore, addressing the prevalence of economic deprivation and its impacts on the welfare of older persons requires collaborative efforts to improve their wellbeing. |
