Mathematical Modeling of Commensalism Between Two Species with Limited Resources.

In this report, a mathematical model of commensalism between two species (S,) and (S,) with limited resources is formulated. description In this report, a mathematical model of commensalism between two species (S,) and (S,) with limited resources is formulated. The commensal species (S), despite the limitation of its natural resources, flourishes drawing strength from the host species (S,). This model is characterized by a pair of first-order non-linear coupled differential equations. All four equilibrium points of the model are identified and the nature of stability of the four equilibrium points is discussed using the Jacobian and trace determinant method. The first three equilibrium points are unstable and only the nontrivial point is stable. Further, the results are stated on the phase diagram.
