Summary:Violence violence-free environment is necessary in every community for the proper expression of human rights as there is no physical, psychological, or sexual. Domestic violence against women has been recognized as one of the most entrenched and pervasive forms of violence in Uganda today and its influence affects social economic development. Despite the measures that have been put by the government, churches, none government organizations, and communities to create a violence-free society for sustainable development, domestic violence has persisted as evidenced in the (new vision of February 08",2020) that showed that physical abuse is one of the most common forms of domestic violence which includes beating, pushing, shoving, hitting, confinement, or denying the victim the necessities of life which include shelter, water, food, clothing and medical care among others. Physical abuse sometimes results in crucial bodily harm such as deep cuts or severe bums and serious injuries which may result in lengthy hospitalization for the management of a person's health conditions. Violence imposes immeasurable burdens and costs on individuals, families, communities, and economies which have affected the social and economic development of people including those of Mwanjari in the southern division of Kabale Municipality. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to examine domestic violence incidences on social economic development in Mwanjari Ward Southern Division Kabale Municipality.
