From the study findings, respondents pointed out that Parental influence played a central role in increasing adolescent pregnancy rate in Rweikiniro Sub County, Ntungamo District; other respondents revealed that early marriages were the sole cause of increasing teen pregnancy rate. Poverty, failure of family planning methods like Pills, Injections among others, family conflicts, and sexual immorality while Social media and Cultural rigidities were some of the factors that contributed to high adolescent pregnancy rate. Respondents revealed that there were social-economic factors affecting adolescent mothers' struggle to revive their aspirations in Rweikiniro Sub County. Ntungamo District. The first is parental relationships shaping the child's character on whether to or not to be involved in sexual intercourse early, The Culture of the community followed. family structure and employment opportunities while the others considered community's overall influence on the socio-economic factors affecting adolescent mother's struggle to revive their aspirations in Rweikiniro Sub County, Ntungamo District. It was found out Abstinence served all purposes for a fruitful marriage, the attitudes of adolescent mothers towards adolescent motherhood, sexual intercourse be done by old people only, children be guided on how to stay free from sexual intercourse, Children having a counselor who teaches them dangers of early pregnancy, the radio programs tuned for children listening. necessities availed to children at the right time and Tests carried out among children to reveal their sexual status were some of the attitudes of parents and society towards teenage motherhood in Rweikiniro Sub County, Ntungamo District. |
