Description
Summary:Why is the diffusion of new technology delayed even though it has been long awaited? The purpose of this presentation is to clarify the factors. In product development, it is important for companies and industries to realize functions and performances that existing technologies do not have. However, even if new technologies are developed, they may not diffuse to the market as much as expected. In previous studies, many obstructive factors to delay the diffusion of innovation have been discussed. However, in the general purpose parts market, the influence of such obstructive factors is considered to be small, the diffusion of new technology may be delayed even though the realization of new technologies has been desired. Therefore, in this presentation, I clarify obstructive factors that delay the diffusion of innovation despite the long-awaited to realize new technologies by case studies of the diffusion process of blue LEDs.
