Summary:This article presents and compares two collaborative research projects implemented in Germany and France together with teenagers and young people who have experienced out-of-home care, one on the participation of adolescents in their care place, the other on the time of the transition to adulthood after leaving care, in a peer-research process. This article aims to understand the effects of national and local contexts on the construction of researches. By using a comparative approach, we aim to understand better the tensions and dilemmas and interests and limitations of collaborative research with adolescents and young people in out-of-home care.
