| description | Sound recordists were quick to adopt digital sound recording tools as soon as they proved to be sufficiently stable and reliable. Although these tools imposed themselves with ease and without too much difficulties, they durably have had an impact on the work field. The roles assigned within the audio workflow had to evolve in order to adapt to the changes brought by digital technics such as the rapid transfer of data, the possibility of multiplying recording tracks, etc. In our following work we will focus on some novelties brought about by the digital age - the multiplication of wireless microphones and digital silence - and the way they have changed the sound operator’s duties and role. This will allow us to start thinking about the new technical and aesthetic issues the profession is facing. |
