Description
Summary:This article traces the evolution José Antonio Maravall’s thought from his times as a propagandist of the Falange to his The Culture of the Baroque. There is a clear continuity of thought in his general idea of “directed freedom,” a notion related to Fascism, and how this permeates his vision of theatre. It analyses in detail a pamphlet, attributable to Manuel Fraga Iribarne, in which it is detailed how Maravall uses his works to obtain economic returns. In Maravall’s corpus there is much to be nuanced.
