Description
Summary:While the market agencement of cattle breeding faces the neo-liberal globalization, a collective of geneticists carries out a techno-political work on behalf of sustainability of the cattle selection activity. A particular knowledge on 'genotype x environment interaction' is then mobilized within the bulls' evaluation methodology to preserve the diversity of cattle breeding systems. The Holstein breed, the most emblematic in terms of industrial and market globalization, serves as a support for the analysis presented in the paper.
