description Intussusception following a colonoscopy is a rare complication, potentially triggered by biopsies or polypectomies. The most common symptoms include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, hematochezia, and fever. A computed tomography scan is the most sensitive diagnostic tool for detecting intussusception. While management is usually conservative, surgery may be required in rare instances. Only 13 cases of colo-colonic intussusception following colonoscopy have been reported, and among those, 4 needed a surgical intervention. We present a case of an elderly male who developed colo-colonic intussusception requiring a hemicolectomy after undergoing a colonoscopy with polypectomy.
