But a local newspaper, the Journal de Rouen, carried small advertisement for the sale or rent of these establishments. Here is a source which has not so far been properly consulted, but which in fact provides data which helps us understand the organisation of the establishments, the different workshops they were comprised of and the way they were laid out and built.
