Description
Summary:From the Industrial Revolution to global finance, the capitalist system has revolutionized the social’s relation to time, ruling it in his own interests. The time issue is thus a stake of power, as well as the control of space. In Clermont-Ferrand, a city located in the middle of France, the interests of capital, represented by the Michelin Company, strongly shaped, from the late nineteenth century, the organization of urban space and local economy but also social and political relations. The initiatives of the industrial company meet the responsibilities of local political institutions, and from this confrontation is born a collective government of space and time. Analysis of this government the space and time lead to identify localized forms of domination of capital.
