| Summary: | The well-being of people is one of the purposes of public policies. It is therefore relevant to propose methods that place well-being at the center of territorial diagnoses. This article presents a participatory tool, called Escapat, for implementing a territorial diagnosis with groups of inhabitants. It underlines the essential elements of well-being for the inhabitants of the territory concerned. In this paper, Escapat is used in three isolated rural areas in the counties of Drôme and Ardèche (south-east of France). The experimentation shows its capacity to activate territorial governance, as a support and as a space for discussion between inhabitants. It also reveals the socio-spatial dimensions of well-being. New questions are emerging in terms of research and territorial foresight : the spatial accumulation of well-being elements, the availability and number of everyday services in isolated rural areas. |
