description | Through bibliographical research, this article introduces itself with a brief history of education in rural areas, in which it points out the marks of the interests of the great rural elites in their definitions, reaching the advent of education in the countryside, and, later, the recent dismantling of schools located in rural areas. With this background, the work discusses how Emergency Remote Education (ERE) was carried out for students in rural areas during social isolation and the closure of schools in 2020. It was found that the weaknesses and deficiencies of resources and Attention focused on the education of rural children increased in that period, leaving marks on their learning processes. The ERE further highlighted old problems and brought new ones such as: the lack of physical structure to study; difficulties in receiving printed material due to dependence on rural roads; the lack of people able to provide assistance with tasks; and the difficulty in accessing information and communication technologies. It was concluded that such factors are reflections of the neglect and lack of adequate government definitions for education in the countryside during its history, and which became more evident during the ERE, and could have consequences on the relationships between students and school and also lead to learning difficulties. during the coming years. |
