| Summary: | Mentors face various challenges that influence their experience and involvement in mentoring. Supporting mentors in overcoming these obstacles is essential, as it promotes their development. This paper focuses on mentors’ perceptions of the role of mentoring supervision in a Hungarian mentoring programme. Mentors’ work is supervised by university teachers bi-weekly in the form of a university course which is similar to mentoring. The research relies on questionnaire-format data collection and in-depth interviews. Data reveal mentors’ perceptions of challenges associated with mentoring and their solutions. The importance of supervision and its possible development are highlighted in the paper, which supports the latter practice in the programme and other contexts that apply mentoring supervision. |
