Summary:This study explores what drives startups to open their innovation to large companies. The methodology used is a multiple case study with 10 startups from the UK and Spain Firstly, this study provides an in-depth insight from motivations and benefits of the startups when enrolling in OI practices with large companies. Secondly, it identifies the risks that startups face in different stages of maturity of their OI processes. Thirdly, it proposes strategies to mitigate the risks inherent in their implementation.
