Description
Summary:Using collaborative mapping of experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico City, Hanoi, Montreal and Paris, as well as two collaborative mapping workshops with women's groups in Mexico City, this paper explores the power of cartographic language to transcend differences in language, discipline, positionality and culture. It demonstrates the importance of mapping in a process of global comparison. The maps analyze the strategies that people have devised to cope with the upheavals in their lives through restorative gestures that, however microscopic, have resulted in a caring city.
