Summary:Abstract:There is a great influence of machining error distribution of large pitch screw’s left and right thread surface along the axial direction on positioning and repeat positioning accuracy of press slide. Thread cutting process should have high reliability. The method through judging the machining accuracy by maximum error ignores the distribution characteristics of the machining error along the axial direction and cannot reveal the reliability of the process. For all this, there are two tests of turning external thread with pitch 16mm conducted in the same process. Through the experiments, distributions of big diameter error, small diameter error,half of thread angle error,pitch and pitch diameter error of left and right thread surfaces are structured. The process reliability can be judged by the similarity between the machining error sequences through the grey correlation analysis method. Then verification of process reliability evaluation method is verified by experiment. Finally, the results show that the method is applicable to recognize and evaluate the stability, repeatability of thread surface machining error and consistence of left and right thread surface machining error.
