Summary:We have studied the influence of zeatin on the K, Ca, P and Na transport in the mycelium of Suillus variegatus. Zeatin has specific effects on each ion. In general, at the beginning of the mycelial growth it increases the ion uptake in the mycelium, later its transport increases into the substrate. Our studies show that the zeatin which is secreted into the rhizosphere by the roots is an extremely important regulator of the mycorrhizae.
