Summary:High energy consumption leads to increased carbon emissions and environmental harm. Conserving energy helps lower the carbon footprint and reduces the adverse effects on the environment. It is important to recognize that the combined impact of plug loads can be substantial. Research indicates that plug loads can represent a significant portion of total energy consumption in both homes and commercial spaces. Estimates suggest that plug loads contribute to 5% to 20% of a household’s energy usage. This proposed project aims to develop a prototype of the Smart Power Extender, bridging the gap between traditional and next-generation extension boards. The project involves creating a Smart Power Outlet equipped with an advanced monitoring and recording system. The proposed system will measure and record parameters like power consumption, voltage, current, and overall energy use. The project’s objective is to boost energy efficiency, provide insights into electricity usage patterns, and offer enhanced control over power consumption. IoT technology is incorporated for remote monitoring and control. This Smart Power Outlet with Monitoring System has the potential to support affordable and clean energy initiatives.
