| Summary: | This article examines the impact of citizens vacationing in the countryside on the preservation of villages and and, in general, the degree of population of the country against the background of the spatial differences in the of the Non-Chernozem settlement system and the degradation of the settlement system in the Non-chernozem region. We consider an example of two local peripheral areas. Ostashkovsky District of Tver Region at the Lake Seliger is an example of a recreational «hyped» area in which different kinds of recreations are combined: resorts, guest houses and garden communities, as well as widespread construction of new houses, purchase and rent of rural houses by townspeople. Manturovo District of the Kostroma region is the typical distant periphery, where citizens who buy houses in the villages, have become the only hope for the salvation of many of them. |
