description This paper describes the operation of surface permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) in a sensorless system, focusing on speed estimation. A vector control scheme without position sensors is presented, using a pulse-width modulation (PWM) voltage inverter. Advanced algorithms, including the Gopinath observer, are implemented for accurate rotor speed and position estimation. The Gopinath observer plays a crucial role in improving the stability and accuracy of control by reducing estimation errors and ensuring a fast reaction to dynamic load changes. The simulations carried out in the Matlab/Simulink environment validate the performance of the system, highlighting both the precision and the reliability of the sensorless control in various operating conditions. The obtained results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and significantly contribute to the improvement of electric drive technologies.
