Description
Summary:This research study assessed the physical properties of banana sheath fibers coated with micro wax to form creative products. The fibers of two banana species, Kluai Hom Thong and Kluai Nam Wa were coated with micro wax at 0, 50, and 100 % of paraffin wax. The research results found that Kluai Hom Thong banana sheath fibers coated with 100 % micro wax of paraffin wax were the most suitable for use in handicrafts. The products were light yellow with a brightness value (L∗) of 63.41. The maximum tensile strength was 151.83 N, percentage elongation 4.08, and percentage moisture 4.47.
