Summary:Post operative endopthalmitis is a dreaded complication post any intraocular surgery. Despite major advances in asepsis, surgical techniques and antibiotics, the entity remains a daunting concern for any intraocular surgeon. The purpose of this article is to update ophthalmologists on the recent advances in diagnosis and management of post operative enophthalmitis, beyond the endophthalmitis vitrectomy study, in the hope that it would lead to earlier detection, prompt management and gratifying outcomes for the patients.
