Summary:Abstract: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of rational emotive behavioral counseling in reducing the academic anxiety of junior high school students. The study used a single-case experimental design method with an A-B design. The subjects of this study were two students who experienced academic anxiety, namely F and C. Data collection techniques used observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The data analysis used in this study is the split middle technique and clinical analysis, namely the subjective evaluation method by the significant other. The split middle technique analysis of the two research subjects showed a decrease in behavior, indicating academic anxiety. Based on the results of the data obtained, there is a change in the slope of the subject F 1.43 and a change in the level of 2.2. The results of subject C's data have a slope of 1.35 and a change in the level of 1.8. In line with these results, based on clinical analysis of significant others explains that the behavior that shows academic anxiety in research subjects has decreased. So it can be concluded that rational emotive behavioral counseling effectively reduces students' academic anxiety. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguji efektivitas konseling rasional emotif perilaku untuk mereduksi kecemasan akademik siswa SMP. Penelitian menggunakan metode single case experimental design dengan rancangan desain A-B. Subjek penelitian ini adalah dua siswa yang mengalami kecemasan akademik yaitu F dan C. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, angket dan wawancara. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah split middle technique dan analisis klinis yaitu metode evaluasi subjektif oleh significant other. Hasil analisis split middle technique dari kedua subjek penelitian menunjukkan adanya penurunan perilaku yang menunjukkan kecemasan akademik. Berdasarkan hasil data yang diperoleh terdapat perubahan slope pada subjek F 1,43 dan perubahan level 2,2. Hasil data subjek C terdapat perubahan slope 1,35 dan perubahan level 1,8. Senada dengan hasil tersebut, berdasarkan analisis klinis significant other menjelaskan bahwa perilaku yang menunjukkan kecemasan akademik pada subjek penelitian mengalami penurunan. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa konseling rasional emotif perilaku efektif untuk mereduksi kecemasan akademik siswa.
