Description
Summary:Gluteal muscle contracture is a condition that severely affects lower-limb function and mobility. Traditional treatment methods, including conservative and open surgical approaches, often fail to achieve ideal results, leaving residual activity limitations or recurrent contractures. With advancements in arthroscopic technology, minimally invasive arthroscopic treatment of gluteal muscle contracture has become the preferred approach for many surgeons. However, there is currently no consensus regarding the optimal technique for performing the release under arthroscopy. This technical note describes an arthroscopic I-shaped release technique for the contracture zone. This approach not only involves a small surgical incision but also effectively shortens the operative time, improves surgical outcomes, and enhances the patient’s recovery and quality of life.
