description The project “Flaubert in the city,” supported by the CÉRÉdI of the University of Rouen, took place in Rouen from April 17 to August 31, 2015. The event aimed to promote Flaubert's material and intangible cultural heritage through digital and artistic mediation. From a scientific point of view, the interest lay in the analysis of lyricism, which often involves a dialogue between the different artistic disciplines. Its purpose was to put the following hypothesis to the test: lyricism, and more broadly the expression of emotions, is not limited to technical processes specific to this or that artistic discipline but results from an intersemiotic exchange. Affective transmission functions as a dynamic and transgeneric principle, ensuring the circulation of emotions from creator to creation, from creation to reception. "Flaubert in the city" has shown that the process that goes from creation to reception is accompanied by reversibility and circularity, revealing the importance of the emotional approach in the artistic and heritage experience. The affective reaction leads to a reflexive movement that triggers a hermeneutic approach not only in the artist who creates but in the receiver of the work. If feelings escape rational and linguistic description, they reveal themselves concretely and physically in the artistic experience.
