Description
Summary:Abstract: The D70 inventory was constructed to represent the Dark Factor of Personality (D). We examined the Norwegian version of the D70 in two studies by looking at internal consistency and factor structure of the full and short versions. We translated D70 and conducted an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) based on a smaller sample (N = 295) and then a CFA on a larger sample (N = 7,142). EFA indicated one general factor explaining most of the variance in the small sample, with eight additional factors, whereas CFA did not converge. CFA in the large sample showed that a bifactor model with five specific factors was better than a one-factor model for the D70. One factor was identified in both short versions, both showed high internal consistency and very high correlations with the full version. We conclude that the Norwegian D70 is consistent with the original version.
