description Eupsophus vertebralis is an endemic species of the temperate humid forests of Chile and Argentina with an unclear geographic distribution. The first records of E. vertebralis in the Quelhue sector of Villarrica National Reserve, on the western margin of the Andes in the Araucanía Region, Chile, are reported. These findings represent a new type of habitat for this species in an area of high conservation value that has been sparsely explored.
