description This article presents the journalist Federico Jiménez Losantos as an example of a certain persistence and variation in the relationship between desire and politics from the Spanish transition to democracy to the present days. For this purpose, we will explain his ideological transition from Maoism to liberalism as part of a much larger process, in which French philosophy was greatly important. Without pretending to expose a single "libidinal" transition, our hypothesis is that some of the phenomena of our political present time reflects the direct inheritance of concerns that came to Spain during the 1970s.
