Description
Summary:Chronic kidney disease(CKD) is a group of chronic diseases with high morbidity and mortality. There is no effective curative therapeutic for CKD. Traditional therapeutics of CKD have major disadvantages, such as poor renal-targeting property and serious side effects. The latest evidence shows that nanomedicines have great potential in the treatment of CKD. Nanomedicines provide good physicochemical properties and biological characteristics, and can precisely deliver the loaded drug to the kidneys to improve the therapeutic effect of CKD. In this review, we first reviewed the pathological mechanisms of CKD progression, and then discussed recent advances in the use of nanomedicines for CKD treatment.
