Description
Summary:A method for the synthesis of TiO2 microspheres is presented, and their morphology is characterized. Electrochemical tests in sample Li||TiO2 cells reveal that the specific capacity delivered upon discharge is lower than the theoretical value due to the presence of the amorphous phase. A decrease in the specific capacity upon current loading is explained by diffusion limitations in microspheres and by hydraulic resistances in the pores to the transfer of charge carriers in the electrolyte.
