description HouseEurope! is a collaborative project that brings together the nonprofit organization HouseEurope!, the architecture studio b+, and the teaching and research platform s+ at ETH Zurich. This transnational initiative advocates for renovation over demolition as a response to Europe’s urban, social, and environmental crises. Launched in 2012, the project leverages the European Citizens’ Initiative to promote adaptive reuse as a sustainable alternative to speculative development. Through design, advocacy, and media -including the three films featured in this article- HouseEurope! demonstrates how the intersection of architecture and media can mobilize civic engagement to drive ecological and social transformations.
