It is currently accepted that children are full fledged subjects of social life. Therefore, their perspective in understanding the surrounding reality seems significant. The research undertaken and described in the text was aimed at identifying how second grade students talk about the school class and how they understand the concept of respect to the student and the teacher. For this purpose, focus interviews were conducted with second graders. The results showed the perception of being in a school classroom from the perspective of the teacher’s power or adults in general. Students give their own meanings to their relationship with the teacher, but these are heavily filtered through the perception of the teacher himself. As a result, they do not reflect on the differences they notice in the place of teachers and students in the school classroom, giving them the status of obviousness.
