| Summary: | After packing for sand control in unconsolidated sandstone formations, additional pressure drop will generate when the fluid passes through the gravel zones in the perforation tunnels and casing-screen annulus, which is one of the important factors affecting oil well production. In order to minimize the impact of gravel packing sand control on production, based on the basic laws of fluid flow, this article analyzes the influence of gravel and perforation parameters on the well skin factor under two sand control methods, high rate water packing and frac-packing. This study has found that increasing the ratio of gravel permeability to formation permeability, increasing perforation diameter and density, and maintaining penetration depth within a reasonable range can effectively reduce the sand control skin factor and improve the productivity of oil wells in unconsolidated sandstone formations. The perforation operation of sand control wells should use perforators with high density and big hole. In addition, based on different ratios of gravel permeability to formation permeability, this article discusses the reasonable range of perforation parameters. The research results of this article could provide a basis for optimizing perforation parameters in unconsolidated sandstone formations. |
