| description | The article provides an overview of Soviet, Russian and for-eign historiography of the Peruvian left movement in the 1920-1940s. A common feature of both Russian and foreign historiography is the increased focus on the personalities of J.C. Mariátegui and V.R. Haya de la Torre, who were key fig-ures in shaping the theoretical foundations of the Peruvian left movement. At the same time, there is an objective lack of works devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the left movement in the 1930-1940s. The article highlights the fea-tures of existing historical interpretations and analytical ap-proaches to the interpretation of events. Both Russian and foreign historiography are rich in studies on the history of the anarchist, trade union, indigenous and indigenismo, peasant, student, communist and aprista movements. However, there remain gaps in biographical research, and there is a lack of comprehensive works devoted to the analysis of the interac-tion of the Communist International and its institutions with the Peruvian Communist Party and APRA in the 1930s. The use of a wide range of archival documents can facilitate the fashioning of a more complete picture of the history of the Peruvian left movement. |
