Description
Summary:Red soil is a very important soil resource in southern parts of China. But being existing simultaneously of enormous productive potentialities and severe soil degradation it needs harnessing urgently. Red Soils Resource Information System (RSRIS) of Zhejiang province (1∶500 000), Quzhou city (1∶250 000) and Longyou county (1∶50 000) made by means of GIS respectively plays an important role in surveying, evaluation, utilization and management of red soils resource. Dynamic linking structure was adopt to integrate three scales RSRIS to an comprehensive system supported by Mapobject OCX (ESRI). Particular emphasis focused on developing applied models that were embedded in RSRIS based on relational database. Plant utilization zoning model was taken a sample to show procedure of applied modeling.
