description Influenza A virus (IAV) is a negative-sense, single-stranded RNA virus, whose genome consists of eight segments encoding multiple structural and non-structural proteins essential for viral replication and host immune evasion. Among these, segment 8 encodes two primary non-structural proteins  NS1, crucial for host immune suppression and virulence and NS2, involved in vRNP export – and their expression is regulated by splicing. Further studies are required to elucidate the role of PKR in IAV mRNA splicing regulation.
