protestante, burguesa e independiente, generó dos escenarios muy distintos a mediados
del siglo XVII. Su proyección puede encontrarse en dos gacetas: Noticias Principales y
Verdaderas (1685-1704) y La Gazeta de Ámsterdam (1675-1691), ambas profundamente
relacionadas con la Monarquía Hispana. El análisis de su creación, evolución y
contenidos permite una aproximación desde dos realidades distintas a los
acontecimientos que experimentó Europa durante la segunda mitad de este siglo.

The final break between the Catholic, Spanish-dominated Flanders, and the
protestant, affluent independent Holland, created two very different scenarios in the
mid-17th century. Its repercussion can be found in two gazettes closely tied to the
Hispanic monarchy: Noticias Principales y Verdaderas (1685-1704) and La Gazeta de
Ámsterdam (1675-1691). The analysis of their creation, evolution and contents allows
us to examine the events that Europe experienced during the second half of the
century from two distinct perspectives.
