description Flexible low frequency AC transmission system employ power electronic converters, particularly modular multilevel matrix converters (M3C), to enable low-frequency operation. These converters demonstrate highly nonlinear dynamic characteristics during grid-connected operation, and their interaction with AC transmission systems can potentially trigger high-frequency resonance phenomena. Based on an actual engineering case study, this paper investigates the mechanism of high-frequency resonance occurring on the low-frequency side of LFAC transmission systems. The analysis incorporates field test data and results obtained from real-time digital simulator (RTDS), while systematically examining factors that may influence resonance characteristics.
