| Summary: | This work puts in evidence an analysis of the relationship between the incidence of acute diarrhoea, the risks and socio-environmental vulnerabilities in Curitiba, associated with the degradation of nature and society. Based on epidemiological analysis (incidence calculation) and mapping (vulnerabilities and risks) it was possible to apply an integrated approach to disease and urban environmental degradation. The main results show: 1) the number of cases expressed strong seasonality (decrease in winter and increase in summer transition to autumn and winter to spring); 2) The distribution of cases shows a strong spatial segregation, ie the most vulnerable areas reveal serious problems as the basic infrastructure (water and sewage) and living conditions (illegal occupation). |
