| Summary: | This paper presents the results of research, conducted by students of the Institute of Pedagogy at Gdansk University under the supervision of Wojciech Siegień. Initially we were focused on the study of the mental representation of relations between parents and children. During the analysis of collected interviews with parents we found certain parts of interviews that we could not understand and interpret. This prompted us to carry out theoretical research on the broadly defined topic of incest. Using developed intellectual instruments we have analyzed parts of the collected interviews. In the paper we present those parts as examples of something that we called a “gray area” of parents/ children relations that is situated beyond the usual proximity within the family.
