| Summary: | Sexual health is a vital aspect of overall well-being, particularly among adolescents and young adults. Comprehensive sexual education (CSE) plays a crucial role in promoting responsible reproductive health behaviours, preventing unintended pregnancies and reducing sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This study evaluates the effectiveness of CSE programmes, identifying key factors contributing to successful implementation and providing recommendations for integrating CSE into school curricula and community health initiatives. The findings indicate that CSE programmes significantly reduce unintended pregnancies by 25%–30% and STI rates by 40%. Notably, programmes providing age-appropriate, culturally sensitive and medically accurate information have shown remarkable success in improving knowledge and promoting responsible sexual behaviours. Overall, CSE is essential for promoting healthy sexual behaviours and reducing negative reproductive health outcomes. Effective implementation requires collaborative efforts between educational institutions, healthcare providers, policymakers and community organisations. Ongoing research, policy support and sustainable funding are necessary to expand the reach and impact of CSE programmes, ultimately contributing to improved public health outcomes. |
