Relativistic configuration interaction calculations of photoionization and photoabsorption in Ne and Ne-like Na+ ion

Relativistic configuration interaction (RCI) calculations of photoionization and photoabsorption of neon and Ne-like Na+ ion are investigated in this paper. The calculated ionization threshold limits, resonance energies, wavelengths, transition rates, and oscillator strengths for the 1s2 2s2 2p5 (2P...

description Relativistic configuration interaction (RCI) calculations of photoionization and photoabsorption of neon and Ne-like Na+ ion are investigated in this paper. The calculated ionization threshold limits, resonance energies, wavelengths, transition rates, and oscillator strengths for the 1s2 2s2 2p5 (2P3/2) ns, 1s2 2s2 2p5 (2P1/2) nd, 1s2 2s 2p6 (2S1/2) np (1P1) and 1s 2s2 2p6 (2S1/2) np (1P1) resonance series of Ne and Ne-like Na+ ion, originating from the 1s2 2s2 2p6 (1S0) ground state, are presented. All the calculations were performed using the RCI method implemented in the Flexible Atomic Code (FAC). Comparisons with previous theoretical and experimental results show a very good agreement. This work provides the first comprehensive dataset for K-shell photoexcitations in Na+, addressing a significant gap in atomic data. These data are essential for modeling X-ray photoabsorption processes in astrophysical plasmas and improving the accuracy of spectral diagnostics in high-resolution observations.
