Gonococcal endocarditis occurs in a fraction of disseminated gonococcal infection cases. This pathogen is difficult to culture, complicating diagnosis. Embolic cultures are a valuable tool in identifying gonococcal endocarditis and should be considered in cases of culture-negative endocarditis with septic embolization. |
